I can haz Mackie plz?

I'm not saying it would be really good, meta-wise, but I think it would be cool to have the first battlemech implemented in the game.

Am I alone in thinking this?

I am not sure if it would be worth the effort.

Plus, all variants have almost identical hardpoints.

The Imp may look like Humpty Dumpty but with all those energy hard points it would probably be a pretty good 'mech.

No joke. Except for potentially low hardpoints, the Flashbulb should socket right into the field of vomit quite handedly, too.

Actually, now that I think about it, it might be really good. The problem with the Atlas, Kingcrab, Banshee, etc. is the low height of their weapon hardpoints. All the art I see for the Mackie gives it multiple AC and energy weapons at shoulder height, like an urbie. Given the hardpoint inflation we usually see when a chassis gets introduced, I think we could expect to see people building the Mackie with 3 large pulse and an AC 20, all at shoulder height, with a standard 360 for the stock engine.

And yeah, the Flashman would be brutal right now with all the laser vomit going on.

Mackie is supposed to be first mech ever right? It would be fun if it could look archaic in some way. Some ancient mech on the field.

Better yet save it for PVE and a Lostech treasure hunt mission. :)

That's correct.

It's irony that the Mackie has reappeared in the Inner Sphere since Jihad.

I was thinking an "Ancients" package with some oldies but goodies.

Assault: Mackie
Heavy: Guillotine
Medium: ?
Light: ?

In place of the Guillotine I'd prefer a Hammerhands.

For the light? Firebee. Medium I need to think on, though maybe the Dervish?

Though I really don't want another jumbo pack. I just want my Mackie.

Yay, another redundant mech that needs unique arm positioning (I don't think there is a mech in game with a jager/normal arm combo) to be viable. Maybe even some hardpoint inflation, since I think one variant only carries 3 weapons. of course, it does have a larger engine than other 100 ton mechs we have, but that will be downsized to make room for the obligatory 3 LPL.

1) The majority of Mackie variants had only Upper Arm actuators on both arms. There're both symmetrical and asymmetrical variants (as for the use of actuators).

2) Off the top of my head, both CN9-AH and CN9 "Yean-Lo-Wang" have Upper Arm actuator in their right arm and Upper Arm actuator, Lower Arm actuator and Hand in their left arm. And both those 'Mechs have been in MWO for years.

You know what would have been good?

If the Mackie had been one of the "Founder" mechs.

I'm still holding out for the Wasp as a "Classic" release along with the Stinger and Valkyrie.
